If Ann Coulter had a Brain, She’d be a Single-Cell Amoeba

Wed Aug 20, 2008 at 08:29:37 PM PDT

Of course it’s a preposterous title but so is the book I saw on the newsstand today, If Democrats Had Any Brains, They’d Be Republicans.

I get a chuckle from the skin-bag’s titles, they grow more outrageous, desperate and pathetic – someone/thing please have sex with her already! She may actually believe in her own relevance and I applaud the grand illusion.

But at this late stage, nearing 2009, one does have to wonder about her mental state. What year does she think this is? Does she really buy her own bile? Does anybody really - outside the legions of boobs who buy her books? What grand boobs these people must be – saggy and sucked, old and withered. The mammary equivalent to grandma’s cans.

The Dark Heart of the Right, Hate Speech and Political Violence

Thu Aug 14, 2008 at 11:23:43 AM PDT

The death of Bill Gwatney coming on the heels of the church shooting in Knoxville has only confirmed for us on the other side of the political spectrum how deep the hatred runs.

O'Reilly, Daily Kos, and holier-than-thou politics (updated)

Thu Aug 14, 2008 at 07:34:40 AM PDT

Summary: Bill O'Reilly's main page has this advertisement:

Wednesday, August 13:
• Is George Clooney advising Barack Obama? Dennis Miller weighs in
• Plus, the Daily Kos strikes again — this time attacking American troops who fought in Iraq!

It's the latter that I want to get into, because it led to another of Mr. O'Reilly's "the Left is worse than the Right" arguments.

BLACK BABY JESUS?!!!!!

Sat Aug 09, 2008 at 03:40:01 PM PDT

Enjoy:

http://cosmos.bcst.yahoo.com/...

Warning this clip features Ann Coulter and even worse, you will probably agree with her when she says, "Why is this news?"

The comment to listen for is "Black baby Jesus."  You heard that right.  Damn I hate Faux News Opinion Media.

Yes, this is a lame diary, but I'm in Vegas and frankly I have better things to do, such as supporting a local economy that is collapsing under my feet.  It's been a longstanding rule in Vegas that casinos do not lay people off and they are now laying people off.  Several of the towering construction projects in the city have simply been abandoned.

Meanwhile Faux News Opinion Media is talking about Obama, pancakes and calling him "Black baby Jesus."  I think I'm going to go puke up the meal I was just comped.

Shot Dead for Being Liberal

Tue Jul 29, 2008 at 05:35:42 AM PDT

I am aware of diaries about the attempted mass murder of liberals in Tennessee. I am aware that the murderer was an intellectual of sorts who read such great savants as O'Reilly, Hannity, and Savage.

Tie Hannity Around McCain's Neck

Tue Jul 29, 2008 at 04:29:09 AM PDT

In another major blunder, John McCain went on Sean Hannity's radio show this Monday after spending time with Hannity last week. McCain's chief surrogate Hannity is the venomous, hateful, Fox News talking points regurgitator and host of a radio show which garners about 2.5 million listeners, or less than 1% of the US population, per day.

I said back in 2005 that if Sean Hannity becomes the face of conservatism and the Republican Party, then Democrats can win all 50 states.  Hannity turns conservatives into moderates and moderates into liberals faster than anybody I've ever met.  We couldn't ask for a better foil since his nastiness, phoniness, lack of intelligence, and cowardliness speaks for itself.

Now John 74+ Flip Flop McCain has been "Hannitized" and apparently McCain's misguided and backfiring ad was at Hannity's urging.  (Thank you Handy Hannity for the Barack Bounce)  Now let's finish the job and tie McCain to Hannity and sink the entire Republican Party for decades to come.

Hate Nation: Right Wing Radio and its Poisonous Price

Mon Jul 28, 2008 at 10:47:49 AM PDT

Most conservatives will tell you that they abhor the tragic violence in Tennessee, and that they condemn it.  But they also will most likely deny that any of their actions or beliefs could possibly be the cause of it, be it their help in the emergence and dominance of hate radio by the right wing, or their seemingly endless and unconditional support for a thoroughly unconstitutional Presidency.

What they most definitely will not tell you is that we've seen this pattern of violence before. That the rhetoric they espouse was used by another regime to begin the process of exterminating millions.

Harold Ford - One of Ann Coulter's Favorite Democrats

Thu Jul 24, 2008 at 04:53:05 AM PDT

Since Harold Ford challenged me to bring my ideas to Memphis and I accepted straight to his face when he hurriedly scooted out of the Convention Center in Austin last Friday only to see Ford chicken out after I accepted his offer, I have decided that I want to expand on the points that Mr. Ford raised about ideology and demonstrate how Ford is an extremist and we are the mainstream.  I will do so in six sections.  This was originally going to be a week's worth of diaries (and still is) but I'm shortening the text for brevity and clarity by the following areas.

  1.  Harold Ford's Right Wing Views
  1.  Steve Cohen, progressive representative of Memphis' 9th Congressional District
  1.  Governor Bredesen - He's No Harold Ford Dino
  1.  The DLC v. DFQ Mentalities.
  1.  The Progressive Mainstream Netroots v. Extremist Harold Ford.
  1.  Memphis and New York City Values

Webb: no VP, I don't want to be silenced. ...So unsilence him!

Tue Jul 22, 2008 at 03:25:42 PM PDT

Sam Stein, in the Huffington Post (a publication I respect less and less for its tawdry "TMZ"-type infotainment, but that's another story...), revealingly notes in his article Webb: I Couldn't Speak Openly If I Were V.P. that Jim Webb, everyone's favorite killer senator from the Old Dominion, doesn't want to be considered as Barack Obama's Vice-President because...

    he doesn't like power?

    he doesn't like "Vice"?

he's afraid he'll morph into Richard Bruce Cheney?

--No, it's because, the article says,

...In essence, he was concerned about his ability to speak openly. ...

But can something be done about this?

Should Obama say to Webb that he'll have substantial freedom of speech as VP?

When Bruce Springsteen ripped Ann Coulter

Mon Jun 23, 2008 at 05:18:14 PM PDT

I couldn't let this day pass without observing that it was exactly two years ago today that my old friend Bruce Springsteen took a verbal swing at my old nemesis Ann Coulter.

It started after CNN asked him about his views on Coulter after she had suggested that maybe some soldiers in Iraq might think about "fragging" John Murtha the next time they had a chance.   Coulter had also famously knocked entertainers like Springsteen taking part in politics (he campaigned for Kerry and later endorsed Obama).

I wrote the followed two years ago for E&P.  It is reprinted in my new book (for which Bruce also wrote the preface).  Enjoy.

Ann Coulter, Still a Font of Dishonesty

Tue Jun 17, 2008 at 06:50:13 PM PDT

A week ago Ann Coulter posted a column on her website where she claimed that Iraqis were safer than Detroit residents, and insinuated that our troops were safer in Iraq than Chicago. Setting aside the implicit insults to the Second City and Motor City, the way in which she used the statistics from this CNN story is among the most dishonest I have have ever read.

In Defense of Keith Olbermann

Sat Jun 14, 2008 at 05:21:31 PM PDT

There has been a concerted effort lately to make the "Worst Person's in the World" segment by Keith Olbermann a controversial flashpoint. It has been pointed to as proof of liberal bias in the media by a number of people affiliated with conservative political causes. The latest is one of these segments that goes after "America's Sweetheart" Katie Couric, anchor of the CBS Evening News.

Frameshop: "Lickspittle"

Thu Jun 12, 2008 at 10:58:42 AM PDT

[A winning nickname for John McCain--Lickspittle? Hmmm... J]

In her newest syndicated column, right-wing pundit Ann Coulter calls the U.S. occupation in Iraq "a stunning success," awards President Bush the status of "moral giant," and trashes Sen. John McCain as one of "the weakest members of the herd."

Since 2001, right-wing pundits have increasingly used offensive and violent rhetoric to humiliate Democratic Party candidates and politicians and to undermine political debate of important issues. Coulter's attack on Sen. McCain confirms a rising trend of right-wing pundits using this tactic of humiliation and violent language to brand Sen. McCain a danger to the safety and well-being of the country.

Ann Coulter insults Detroit

Thu Jun 12, 2008 at 10:07:39 AM PDT

In her twice weekly column, Ann Hart Coulter, Conservative cheerleader and suspected closet lesbian,, said the following:

Quote:

Monthly casualties in Iraq now come in slightly lower than a weekend with Anna Nicole Smith. According to a CNN report last week, for the entire month of May, there were only 19 troop deaths in Iraq. (Last year, five people on average were shot every day in Chicago.) With Iraqi deaths at an all-time low, Iraq is safer than Detroit -- although the Middle Eastern food is still better in Detroit. - BUSH'S AMERICA: 100 PERCENT AL-QAIDA FREE SINCE 2001 (Via AnnCoulter.com)

You know, I really hate to be the person to say this to this......woman, and trust me, I use the damn term quite loosely.

When the Righties and the Lefties were kiddies...

Thu Jun 12, 2008 at 06:42:19 AM PDT

Summary: As you may know, Bill O'Reilly has a new book coming out about his formative years.  This inspired me to take a look at what he, and other figures from the political landscape, might have been like when they were younglings.

The Rise of the Obamacons, Update

Wed Jun 11, 2008 at 05:21:52 PM PDT

In an article recently posted at The New Republic Bruce Bartlett discusses the rising tide of conservative support for the election of Barack Obama.  This support reflects the deep divisions within various segments of the American conservative movement that have has little play in the MSM or in discussion forums on the political left.
What is becoming clear beyond my anecdotal discoveries is that there is a growing, almost viral discontent within the republican party and the conservative movement.

More below the fold.

Dailykos Dream Diary: Zombie Chris Matthews, and others

Sun Jun 08, 2008 at 06:03:51 AM PDT

Summary: This is an experimental diary.  My intention is just to rattle off some (literal) dreams I've had about people in the political world...and of course invite you to toss in your own if you'd like.
