The Drugstore Cowboy is at it Again.

Not much to this other than Limbaugh doing what he does best.  Which is inciting violence, obsessing over violence and preaching violence from behind his gilded microphone.

Limbaugh's Atrocious Distraction - "Little Black Man-Child"

Thu Aug 21, 2008 at 05:52:58 AM PDT

Yesterday on the air, Rush Limbaugh stated the following:

Obama's patriotism is not being attacked in an ad. McCain's just out there saying he's putting his own personal political ambition ahead of the country's. It's -- you know, it's just -- it's just we can't hit the girl. I don't care how far feminism's saying, you can't hit the girl, and you can't -- you can't criticize the little black man-child. You just can't do it, 'cause it's just not right. It's not fair. He's such a victim.

There is so much that is foul about those paragraphs, but the reference I bolded is one more example of the racist Rush Limbaugh we've all come to know recently.

Rush was calling Obama "Little Black Sambo."

What Rachel Maddow's show should NOT be called

Wed Aug 20, 2008 at 06:04:14 AM PDT

Summary: As you almost certainly know, Rachel Maddow will be getting her own show on MSNBC.  As you probably know, there is no title yet for it.  Now, I could just run through a list of realistic titles for you to consider, but Clem Yeobright beat me to it.

So let's try something a little different, shall we?

Don't Forget Limbaugh's Threat: Riot In Denver

Mon Aug 18, 2008 at 06:26:55 PM PDT

A week from today the Democrats will begin their nominating convention in Denver. This seems like a good time to recall the incitations to violence that were voiced last April by Rush Limbaugh:

Screw The World! Riot in Denver

Lush Rimbaugh & myths of liberal media bias

Sun Aug 17, 2008 at 02:03:41 AM PDT

It's taken for granted that the media is biased towards Obama.  While this may be true for certain media outlets, no one would claim that Fox is pro-Obama.

So first a little history.  The peak of newspaper circulation was 63.3 million in 1984, about the time that Ronald Reagan began his ranting against 'liberal institutions'.  Today, it's on a trend to be half of that soon.  Nonetheless, where are American's getting their news fix from?

As of April 2008, Daily Newspapers total circulation:  43.7 million
#1 USA Today:  2,284,219
#2 Wall Street Journal:  2,069,463
#3 NY Times circulation:  1,077,256

What's this?  The business and GOP friendly WSJ has double the circulation of the McCain camp enemy the NY Times?

So let's turn to radio, wait...there's Rush or Sean.  How about TV?  Oh yeah, Fox News.

Limbaugh Attacks Elizabeth Edwards. Unreal!

Thu Aug 14, 2008 at 09:30:59 PM PDT

On the August 12 broadcast of his nationally syndicated radio show, Rush Limbaugh said of former Sen. John Edwards' recent disclosure of an extramarital affair: "I've got a theory about the motivations. Well, I don't know that I could -- I don't know that I can put this one on the air."

But he did put "it" on the air..read below the fold

The Dark Heart of the Right, Hate Speech and Political Violence

Thu Aug 14, 2008 at 11:23:43 AM PDT

The death of Bill Gwatney coming on the heels of the church shooting in Knoxville has only confirmed for us on the other side of the political spectrum how deep the hatred runs.

O'Reilly, Daily Kos, and holier-than-thou politics (updated)

Thu Aug 14, 2008 at 07:34:40 AM PDT

Summary: Bill O'Reilly's main page has this advertisement:

Wednesday, August 13:
• Is George Clooney advising Barack Obama? Dennis Miller weighs in
• Plus, the Daily Kos strikes again — this time attacking American troops who fought in Iraq!

It's the latter that I want to get into, because it led to another of Mr. O'Reilly's "the Left is worse than the Right" arguments.

Obey... Oh, Bayh... I'm Out

Wed Aug 13, 2008 at 08:29:24 PM PDT

If you dislike the idea of Evan Bayh on the Democratic ticket this November, join together on Facebook against him.  Writers welcome you.  The page.  Even if Bayh had a fantastic record on liberal issues, he wants to be Vice President almost as bad as McCain wants to be President.  That is a very bad thing.  Power corrupts, and Evan Bayh has been sipping from the fountain.

If FISA is a precedent, then the Facebook page won't make any difference.  Even less so. Get in on it while it's young (only  [tens of?] thousands strong so far).  Be a charter member of the "Bayh Not VP" Facebook movement.  T-shirts will be available, if you make them.  So not news.

[Funny, Kos, but only painfully so]

Limbaugh’s China-Envy, the Wrecking Crew, and Economic Growth

Mon Aug 11, 2008 at 10:37:17 AM PDT

If China’s leaders took note of it, which they probably didn’t because they are too busy presenting themselves as "the Middle Kingdom" (the "middle" between Heaven and Earth) to the rest of the world, they would doubtless have been amused by Rush Limbaugh’s case of China-envy:

See, the ChiComs need their economy growing.  They need people driving around, moving around.  They need people to be able to afford fuel, so they're subsidizing fuel.  They're not bailing people out of stupid home mortgage messes.  They're buying their gasoline for them, because they need an economy.  Know what energy means to this, the whole subject of economic growth.  So meanwhile, the ChiComs, a country certainly growing, certainly on the rise, but it ain't the United States of America.

Presumably, what Rush would like is for the U.S. to subsidize gas so that people in the U.S. could live large like the Chinese leaders and fuel our economic growth.

Republican Radio Must Die

Mon Aug 11, 2008 at 09:40:57 AM PDT

I have listened to Republican Radio for over 15 years. And I have never been more disturbed by it than I have come to be this year. It has always been bad, it has always been simplistic. But this year in particular it has become blazingly clear just how destructive to the health of our country and citizenry this vile stream of verbiage really is.

Now I cannot stand to listen to it even for the sake of "hearing what the other side is saying." I've tried, flipping the dial for a quick listen. Hearing Limbaugh's or Hannity's voice is like having a bucket of sulfuric acid thrown onto me. The sound makes my skin burn. I cannot endure it more than 10 seconds tops.

Surprise: Bush guy trashes Olbermann

Sun Aug 10, 2008 at 07:13:22 PM PDT

Peter Wehner is a Senior Fellow at the Ethics and Public Policy Center.  (Reminds me of calling the Center something like "Cute Puppies in a Basket..." A line I "stole" from I've forgotten who.  They want you to believe it's really about ethics and good public policy.)

This is what he wrote about Keith Olbermann, and appeared on Washington Journal and essentially said the same thing:

Uh-Oh, My Dad is Going to Lookup DK

Sun Aug 10, 2008 at 02:22:45 PM PDT

Last night, my right wing Dad called me.  We were talking about the new job I accepted.  Then he brought up DK.....

Are conservative blogging communities really in the business of echoing people like Limbaugh?

Thu Aug 07, 2008 at 04:54:34 PM PDT

First, a friendly hello to everyone. I'm a 21 year old college student in Northern California, I've been a long-time reader, but I only recently created an account here. For most of my teenage years, I was a conservative, primarily due the faith I was born into (Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints, also known as the Mormons). I gradually became less and less conservative after I quit the Mormon church at 17 (a long story for another time that basically boils down to my bishop not being able to adequately answer why we were an officially racist religion for so long, among other questions). That really shook the foundations of my conservatism, and I find myself sharing similar company on sites like DailyKos, these days.

Shot Dead for Being Liberal

Tue Jul 29, 2008 at 05:35:42 AM PDT

I am aware of diaries about the attempted mass murder of liberals in Tennessee. I am aware that the murderer was an intellectual of sorts who read such great savants as O'Reilly, Hannity, and Savage.

Tie Hannity Around McCain's Neck

Tue Jul 29, 2008 at 04:29:09 AM PDT

In another major blunder, John McCain went on Sean Hannity's radio show this Monday after spending time with Hannity last week. McCain's chief surrogate Hannity is the venomous, hateful, Fox News talking points regurgitator and host of a radio show which garners about 2.5 million listeners, or less than 1% of the US population, per day.

I said back in 2005 that if Sean Hannity becomes the face of conservatism and the Republican Party, then Democrats can win all 50 states.  Hannity turns conservatives into moderates and moderates into liberals faster than anybody I've ever met.  We couldn't ask for a better foil since his nastiness, phoniness, lack of intelligence, and cowardliness speaks for itself.

Now John 74+ Flip Flop McCain has been "Hannitized" and apparently McCain's misguided and backfiring ad was at Hannity's urging.  (Thank you Handy Hannity for the Barack Bounce)  Now let's finish the job and tie McCain to Hannity and sink the entire Republican Party for decades to come.

Rush Limbaugh's Anniversary

Mon Jul 28, 2008 at 10:48:46 PM PDT

Twenty years? It seems like longer than that.

But here's an article that appears in the conservative journal Human Events.
Apparently it's some kind of special "Rush Limbaugh Week" over there. So you're likely to find more of this kind of stuff:

A cynic's view of things to come

Sun Jul 27, 2008 at 11:20:10 AM PDT

For all the speeches, the photo-ops, the superior organization, and the surge in first-time voter registrations.... it's all starting to smell very familiar. And frankly, it scares me...
