My Son's Fathers Day present-the greatest

Sun Jun 15, 2008 at 04:42:26 AM PDT

My son is 35 years old and works for an investment firm.
Brian sent me this e-mail this morning. It brought tears to my eyes. At the bottom of his message he said Happy Father's day dad you taught me not to keep my mouth shut. The e-mail was a reply to a scurrilous Obama e mail titled "Just in case you are thinking of voting for Obama! Double the number of taxes"
Here is his response:

A Report from IN-03 Michael Montagano the Real Deal

Sun Apr 13, 2008 at 10:21:43 AM PDT

Last nite the 3rd Distric Democrats held their annual dinner. Over 300 good Dems were in attendance. Michael Montagano our candidate for Congress simply wowed the crowd. Michael is our kind of Democrat. Michael is supported by ACTBLUE and has raised over $15K on the site, overall Micheal has raised in excess of $325K. I will attempt to summarize his speech and stand on the issues beneath the fold.

Call the Blue Dog Democrats today.

Mon Mar 10, 2008 at 06:55:03 AM PDT

With the the victory of Bill Foster in IL-14 it is time for us to all get on the phone and call the Blue Dog Democrats to remind them how real courage is rewarded.
In 2004 Bush won IL-14 with 56% per cent of the vote. Yet.

If Hillary Wins say Goodbye to Howard Dean

Sun Jan 20, 2008 at 10:48:43 AM PDT

If we nominate HRC and she wins say goodbye to Howard Dean. Say goodbye to the 50 state strategy. I want to support Hillary. If she will not guarantee that Howard Dean will remain as head of DNC, put it in writing and sign it in blood then I cannot vote for her. No ifs and s or buts , a full pledge of support without equivocating.

Judge Gives Dems Special Election in IN-03

Sun Dec 30, 2007 at 08:35:05 AM PDT

The small town of Rome City Indiana, population 1600, held a town election, for town manager and town council at large, this past November. Deep in the heart of Republican territory the Democrats managed to put forth just two candidates for town council out of a possible three that could be voted for and elected. The Democrats had no candidate for town manager. Lo and behold  the election was close, the Democratic candidates lost by just 17 and 28 votes.

Hillary Bashers Could Learn From Earnhardt

Mon Aug 27, 2007 at 04:44:38 PM PDT

Last week DE jr (NASCAR)lost the number 8 in a battle with his step mom Theresa. When she started taking abuse from the fans he was the first to defend her saying look she is a NASCAR owner and she was married to my dad she doesn't need this bullcrap.
People its time to stop saying if Hillary gets the nomination I am not voting for her. If you are a Democrat can you mean it? Its one thing to not have Hillary on your list of Democrats to support in the primary but it is totally riduculous to say you will not vote for HRC in the general election.

Imus Nails Limbaugh

Fri Mar 23, 2007 at 05:06:12 AM PDT

Since I work at home I often have Imus on in the morning. Today was great. In an interview with Howard Fineman the topic quickly turned to Elizabeth and John Edwards. Both Imus and Fineman talked about the strength of the Edwards and their love for one another.

Identify yourself by state Kossacks & organize a state DK

Sat Dec 16, 2006 at 07:32:42 AM PDT

Is it time for us as Kossacks to identify the state where we live? Should sub groups be formed by states such as Indiana Kos or California Kos? It seems by doing this we  could network much better and make a bigger impact at both the federal and the state level. I for one would like to know how many Kossaks are from Indiana and how we could meet up to discuss Indiana politics or county or local politics. Could such a project be organized inside DK where individual state diaries could be posted for the benefit of kossacks from that particular state?

Souder in trouble in IN-03

Thu Nov 02, 2006 at 05:07:32 AM PDT

You don't dump 75K into a safe district in the last week if your over 50%   The Vet Vote ads could really help in this district with Hayhurst a MD and Veteran while Souder was a Conscietous Objector.   There is a wave building.

Here is the press release. Everybody keep fighting. The ground war is just starting for real.

Zogby Poll Question On 2008 Presidency a hoot

Sun Jun 25, 2006 at 07:06:46 AM PDT

Take a look at a Zogby poll question about Democratic Dem candidates. Does it seem to slant things against Russ Feingold or is it just my imagination? It seems Evan Bayh gets a real break here. It is not hard to recognize who these candidates are. It would be interesting to know who commissioned this poll. Does any body else feel this was a knock on Feingold. Also notice the knock on Edwards a malpractice attorney. Hillary a polarizing figure. Why don't they just name the candidate, anybody that follows politics knows who they are. Or is this a way to determine in a suttle manner how to submarine certain candidates by comparing these figures with other poll results? oh well enjoy and give your comments.

Olberman Leads with Ailto Vanguard

Thu Nov 10, 2005 at 05:25:38 PM PDT

Olberman said tonite that to the average citizen the failure of Ailto to recuse himself was serious and looked like a throat cutter. That it not only brought up questions as to whether Ailto should serve on Scotus but whether he should serve on any court.

I am Serious Folks Harry Reid for President in 2008

Everybody has been speculating, wondering, pontificating and just sheer BS ing on who should be our Nominee in 2008.

HOW DO YOU USE THE INFO DAILY KOS GIVES US (W/POLL)

Wed Oct 26, 2005 at 07:04:51 AM PDT

I have wondered what you people do with all of the info you get here at Daily Kos and how you use it. I store it inside my head until my brain explodes usually about every 3rd day. But I also try to send it around the world. I use it to bolster my arguments in conversations, for speeches, letters to the editor and TV shows. I edit the info to fit the situation. Yes I rip you great diary writers off and use your words of wisdom to educate the masses. Before I can convert people I must educate people in many instances.

What age of People does DKos attract (w/Poll)

Sun Oct 02, 2005 at 06:31:09 AM PDT

Was reading another diary and was suprised to see a 64 year old, 67 year old and 74 year old comment. I am 57. Then I got to thinking how many young people do we attract here at DKOS. Our county Dem Party meetings are well attended but 80% of the people are over 50 years old. Which makes me wonder where are we going to get the recruits for the future.

URGE YOUR DEMOCRATIC SENATOR TO VOTE PRESENT ON ROBERTS

Sun Sep 18, 2005 at 07:51:35 AM PDT

Senator Schumer makes a good point about the Democrats keeping their powder dry for
O'Connor's replacement on the Supreme Court. He believes a yes vote would be a vote that shows reasonableness. I must respectfully disagree with Senator Schumer on voting YES. I say if you cannot vote NO then vote PRESENT. In light of the hearings that is the vote that shows reasonableness.

Justice Roberts ViolatesThe Federal Judcial Code of Ethics

Fri Aug 26, 2005 at 02:06:08 PM PDT

It is readily apparent that Justice Roberts is in conflict with the judical code of ethics. The question remains  should he have recused himself or at least notified the attorneys arguing the case and ask them to sign a wavier allowing him to hear the case.
If you look at  Justice Scalia's conduct of going duck hunting with Cheney then his conduct probably passes muster. However I think that any one with the least amount of ethics, morality and a smidgen of a conscious would consider this conduct a violation of Cannon 2 of the code of conduct for US Judges which states:
